Lloyd was baptized and joined Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in Tucker, GA in 1980 with his mom and dad and brother.
He and his wife Stephanie have 5 children, who are all grown.
Lloyd has lived in Atlanta his whole life.
He studied Computer Science at Georgia Tech and is a software developer and an IT executive by profession.
He was ordained as a deacon at Bethany and continued in that role at Ebenezer.
He was ordained an elder in 2016.
Jay was baptized at the age of 18 at his family church, Providence Primitive Baptist Church in Stringer, Mississippi.
After he married his wife Beverly, the company he was working for at the time transferred him to several states around the country.
In 1972 they were moved to the Atlanta area where Jay joined Bethany Primitive Baptist Church which was located on Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta at that time. Soon after, Beverly joined Bethany, too.
Eight years passed, and they transferred to Chicago where they attended the Chicago Primitive Baptist Church. For two years they met with a sweet group of believers in a YMCA building.
Their next move was to Houston, Texas where Jay was ordained as a deacon. Jay and Beverly were blessed for all three of their children to be baptized while living in Houston.
After three more moves and enjoying fellowship with other Primitive Baptist Churches, they settled back in the Atlanta area to retire.
Jay says that being a member of Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church is an awesome blessing with sound teaching, a sweet spirit and peaceful fellowship for all.
